Sudbury asphalt pilot project may be scaled back
All three of the bids the city received for its hot-in-place asphalt recycling project came in over budget. To get the work done, and complete the pilot by year’s end, staff is recommending scaling back the project scope.
Kingston ferry services set for major upgrade
The Kingston ferry service transports about 900,000 passengers between Wolfe Island and Kingston annually. Both docks are being renovated to improve efficiency.
Province provides $37M in funding for skills training
The full list of partner organizations supported under the funding will be released on September 25, but it includes the Provincial Building and Construction Trades Council of Ontario.
$4M for affordable housing projects in Sault Ste. Marie
In separate announcements, the federal and provincial governments announced nearly $4 million in funding for two affordable housing projects in Sault Ste. Marie on September 3.
Net-zero fire station planned for Port Stanley
The facility will draw on solar panels, increased thermal performance and efficient operating systems to realize an energy reduction of 45 percent, or about $12,500 annually.
