Two companies and two individuals have been fined a total of $380,000 for their role in a 2021 elevator-shaft platform collapse that led to critical injuries to two workers.

A consortium led by PCL is the only entity to be shortlisted to respond to the project RFP. The company also led construction of the previous phase of work.

Statistics Canada said that the economy edged up 0.1 per cent, outperforming its preliminary estimate that real GDP would remain unchanged for the month.

The province's energy needs are quickly rising, with the proliferation of electric vehicles and increasing manufacturing demand for electricity on the horizon just as a large nuclear plant that supplies 14 per cent of Ontario's electricity is set to be retired and other units are being refurbished. 

Experts say infrastructure and network upgrades are necessary given the state of the Air Force’s current facilities and the advanced nature of the F-35 compared to the CF-18s.
