The province broke ground Sunday on a long-awaited new subway line in Toronto, which Ontario Premier Doug Ford described as a "once-in-a-lifetime" project.

The 400 changes in the fire, plumbing and energy codes are designed to make homes and buildings safer and more accessible, and better responsive to climate change.

The steelmaker says the outlook for the quarter ended March 31 includes the impact of the work stoppage at Canadian Pacific Railway that began Sunday.

At $114 million, the company’s bid was the lower of two received by the town.

The grant is one of the largest of its kind in the province’s history, and will make the hospital one of the largest and most advanced academic research hospitals in Canada, improving access to care for patients and families.
