Stelco Holdings Inc. says its steel shipments in the fourth quarter of last year were below its guidance as it was hurt by production and logistics challenges and the emergence of the Omicron variant of COVID-19.

The $26.8-million project to modernize the road was funded through a capital investment from Windsor City Council and contributions from the federal and provincial governments. 

The framework includes options for transportation over road and rail. It could see as many as 620 truck shipments annually along provincial roads; fewer if rail service is implemented.
