Ontario’s government announced in January that it was partnering with the Toronto District School Board and Menkes Development to build the province’s first public school in a condominium at Toronto’s downtown waterfront.

Plans for the project will see the highway expanded from two lanes to four over a nine-kilometre segment between Highway 403 and Upper James Street.

Initial funding for the project was announced by the provincial government on February 3. Colliers Project Leaders has since been named as project managers.

A report from the Ontario Medical Association published Wednesday outlined a proposal to create Integrated Ambulatory Centres across the province.

The start of work at the third of four reactors at the station means that the 10-year, $12.8-billion project has officially passed its halfway mark. The entire project will extend the life of the station by 30 years.
