Sixteen smaller projects in Ottawa will share in nearly $4 million in funding, while the Chris Gibson Recreation Centre in Brampton will receive $18 million for expansion work.

Cultural and recreational infrastructure projects in North York and Grimsby will share in $20 million in funding from the provincial and federal governments.

The project proposes a portable, cable-driven parallel robot that could be used for large scale fabrication and assembly—particularly in northern communities where building costs are prohibitive.

Speculation is that the sites in Southwold, Cambridge and London will become fulfilment centres for Amazon. If that is the case, they will be the ninth, tenth and eleventh projects completed for the e-commerce giant by the Montreal-based builder/developer.

The city issued a single permit worth $24.6 million that helped propel Windsor’s construction market to another strong performance in June.
